MapInfo Showcases Next-Generation of Location-based Solutions for Communications Industry at SUPERCOMM 2002
Customers to Receive Preview of Exciting New Communications Solutions Enabling Improved Decision-making, Network Operations and Customer Care
Atlanta, GA--SUPERCOMM--June 4, 2002--MapInfo Corporation today announced that it will showcase several new location-based technology solutions for carriers at SUPERCOMM 2002, June 4-6 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. MapInfo solutions help carriers identify and interpret critical location information in order to meet regulatory demands, improve network engineering and provide top-notch customer care. Demonstrations of MapInfo solutions are available at MapInfo´s booth, # 21554.
MapInfo will demonstrate solutions that include the following benefits and applications for carriers:
Complete Coverage Analysis--MapInfo will showcase the industry´s only complete coverage analysis solution that enables wireless and wireline carriers to pinpoint and visualize customer addresses for improved service and decision-making. Specifically, this solution helps carriers to meet FCC mandates for Local Number Portability (LNP) and E911. Through a simple Web-based user interface, carriers can tag addresses, visualize the address on a map, and make important business decisions regarding the types of service level agreements to offer, which rate center a customer is in, or which Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) a customer is nearest to. This location-based solution automates a process that typically requires the work of multiple staff. It improves overall efficiency and establishes consistency across an operator´s entire network.
Territory Analysis--MapInfo enables carriers to manage sales territories and visually highlight geographic areas and specific business locations with the greatest revenue potential for long distance, local, wireless, data and IP services. Show attendees can see firsthand how this analysis opens up new revenue opportunities and helps carriers maximize the effectiveness of their sales force.
DSL Pre-Qualification--Using MapInfo solutions, carriers can quickly and easily pre-qualify customers for DSL. Carriers can find the shortest route along the network between a customer address and a central office and determine if that address qualifies for DSL based on the route distance. This analysis can then be used to enhance sales efforts with targeted lead lists of selected businesses that qualify for DSL.
"MapInfo´s solutions are developed based on careful analysis of customer needs and are designed to meet our customer´s critical business objectives and deliver significant ROI," said Bill Potts, vice president and general manager, location-based intelligence business unit, MapInfo. "SUPERCOMM is a great venue for us to gather direct customer feedback and use it to shape our future technology offerings. We invite show attendees to view our demonstrations and provide us with their valuable input."
Additional Demonstrations
MapInfo will also feature demonstrations highlighting its extensive location-based service offerings, including MapInfo® miAware(TM), the industry´s leading location services platform, and exciting applications such as ATM Locator, miRealtor(TM) and miTrip(TM). Attendees can also learn more about MapInfo´s miAware Developer Services Program at the show.
MapInfo´s flagship product, MapInfo Professional® v7.0 will also be spotlighted and attendees who stop by to complete MapInfo´s customer survey will be eligible to win a free copy of this enhanced location-based visualization solution.
